Craig, Since most of us have installed a master switch I assume that means if you want the clock to run with any kind of regularity you need a bypass from the battery to the clock? Bjorn

A friend of mine bought a small cheap ($.800 Canadian) Quartz clock, simply removed the actual quartz movement from it's mount and installed it in the tach. Looks close enough to the original and works like a charm. Arnold, TC0580, Vancouver Island, BC

Hi All I have repaired several clocks, the last two on my TC and Y Type both have worked non-stop for about 4 years since then. I did a write up about it in the Octagon Bulletin a little while back, it also included refurb of the YB speedo. You have to include a transistor drive to protect the balance wheel contact otherwise it gets eroded through arcing. If anyone is interested I could look out the Bulletin date or post the article on the site somewhere. Brian in sunny? Wales

Brian, Yes, i'd be interested in seeing the article, thanks. It seems that the contact points are the culprit. Michael DeRentz Broomall PA

Hi Benny and all I have asked Walter how I put my bit on clocks on the special files as this may be the best place for it. It was however as a follow up to previous articles which went into more circuit details and clock functions so further explanation may be required! hello Jose - all the info you could possibly need has been published in "The Sacred Octagon", the bi-monthly journal of the New England MG "T" Register. You can buy past issues or even better, a CD. The articles you need are: The Clock...A Definitive Description by Hal Kramer (June '92, pp. 38-40); More on Clocks by John Marks (Oct. '92, pp. 14-15); Cleaning the T-Series Clock by Blake Urban (April '02, pp. 29-32) I cannot recommend the TSO too highly - over the years mostly every subject has been covered in detail, much more than we can ever go into on the list (especially since we cannot post photos...). ocTagonally Roger TC0978 TC2365 Jose asked:

Clock

The clock on my TC worked about 40 years ago but not now. As I am retired I now have a calender stapled to the dashboard to enable me tell the time. Ross in Tea Gardens
