Hello Listers: Definitely a non-MG-topic, but I have to comment: If you choose to store your Linjeakevitt in the freezer, I hope it it served at room temparature... Here we have sufficient supply of both L iten Linie and Lysholm Linie. Akevitt is most popular around Christmas. Akevitt and beer must be on the table together with the traditional Norwegian Christmas food "ribbe" and "lutefisk". Trondheim is the origin of the first Linjeakevitt, Lysholm being an old family here. The first ship to cross the equator with a load of akevitt was "Throndhiems Pr ve" in 1805. Hi guys; It appears for what I read that on most of the TC's all the instruments work but the clock!! ( mine the same) Why is that? how does it work? is electric? is there a separate cable to it? can it be fix without removing the tachometer?how is the time set? Thanks for any info. My original clock finally quit about 6 years ago. It's electro-mechanical. It looked like it just plain wore out (the contact on the balance wheel was badly worn, and the bearings had become quite sloppy). Greetings,Pleased to say my clock does work and is accurate twice a day. To answer your question, yes it is electric and if I recall correctly two wires, one live and the other to an earth are required. There is a flexible cable from the bottom fed through the wood (Ash / Mahogany / Oak or just plain ply!) to adjust the hands. The retard advance is on the back of the clock. In a conversation I had with John Marks (Vintage Restorations in England) last fall, John told me the clock in the TC is the hardest instrument to keep running of all he's worked on. He said Jaeger as a matter of course just replaced clocks rather than try to repair them. It's still on my list to figure out how to get the clocks to run all the time and reasonably accurate. One of my favorite sounds from the TC is listening to the "Tick Tock" of the clock after I pull into the garage and shut off the engine. It's a wonderful and sentimental sound. When I asked John Marks to fix the clock when he restored my instruments four years ago, he replied in his clipped English " You must understand, 75% of the clocks coming out of the factory did not work." He did get mine to work so I guess I am one of the lucky 25%. Howard TC6424 Sent from my iPad

Michael & Group, I personally do not repair the TC electric clock that is held onto the tachometer with two machine screws. I send the clocks to Hal Kramer in MA for repair. He does an excellent job of repairing the clock as original. We restore the balance of the instruments. Hal can be reached at: HKramer@nycap.rr.com. Remember, as cast in the back plate of all TC clocks: "SETTING HANDS STARTS MOVEMENT". If you disconnect the battery, the clock will not start by itself.
