Redline Oil

Post by Monoxidemanor@aol.com » Wed Mar 06, 2002 8:13 pm

Dear Kimberites: Thanks to Skip Kelsey we checked out Redline oil products on their website at www.redlineoil.com. From the Redline website it is apparent that they do produce oils for street use with detergents and perhaps non-detergents. We went back to our oil specialist/racer friend for clarification. Apparently his comments were directed at those individuals who put Redline racing oil in street cars. He was not addressing the other Redline products. From our reading, the concern about using modern oils in prewar cars seems to relate to the possible chemical attack upon Babbitted and bronze bearings. Considering how excellent Redline's products are it is worth posing this question to them. I will endeavour to do so via their website and report any findings to the list. Kindest regards, Alan Campbell
