OK guys, thanks for all the advice. Here is a summary of facts found:
1.A 12 1. A 121. A 12 Volt lamp is fine for the ignition light. I understand from a
technical friend that apart from twinkling, it has a minor job of initially
energising the generator field coils but if it is blown, a few extra rpm
quickly does the same job. No resistors are necessary as generally
agreed.
2. No resistor is needed for the fuel lamp.
3. Datsun bulbs are preferred.
3. If all else fails, as it has done in my black TC, Badger's "Stick It In"
method works far better and even I can understand it.
Now we can get back to discussing engine and header tank colours
and other important subjects.
