hi friends, which modifications have to be done to get an XPAG into a TA? i suppose, the bellhousing and the gearbox also has to come from the TC/TD/Y ? but what else is to do? walter ________________________________________________________________________ Walter Prechsl Kappel cker 10 74182 Obersulm, Germany walter@publi-consult.com

Hi Walter, As far as I know, you can bolt in a TC engine and gearbox into a TA. You will need a TC radiator and reverse the gearbox rubber mounts. Otherwise, I believe it's a straight swap. A TD/Y gearbox will require some modifications to the gearbox mounts. I don't know if a TA gearbox can be fitted to an XPAG engine. Brackets or risers to raise the generator position to match the bonnet clearance 'bump' should be considered. Also, extending the throttle shaft around 4" or so to make a proper linkage with the carbs may help. A bit of creative bending of the 'drivers side' radiator support rod to clear the carbs may also be in order. The tach drive reduction gearbox may be a tight fit if using one from a TA (may hit distributor) so if a TC box is used, modification of the cable to the dash Tach will be needed as TA is different from TC. These are all minor changes but still need time to sort out. Cheers, Lee Jacobsen, Dearborn, MI TA2969 Tickford (with replacement engine)
