Yes I agree, peanut butter doe's work better than cheese. I've caught three so far this year in sunny southern Ontario, Canada. ( it got up to 12 Celcius today !! which is very different than our usual January Temp. ) This was the first year I've had to resort to traps. I think my old tomcat has taken an early retirement !!

Best trap I ever heard of was something an old Canadian hunter/mountain man taught me. Take one of those white plastic five gallon buckets that latex paint comes in and clean it out real good. Put it out in the barn with a couple of thin wood strips leaning up to it like ramps. Toss a piece of old dead meat into it and you're done. A mouse smells the rotting meat, finds his way up the ramp and falls in. He can't climb up the smooth inside walls of the bucket and he dies. Another mouse smells his rotting carcass, climbs up the ramp, falls in, can't climb out, dies, etc. etc. etc. A perpetual self baiting trap. Brilliant if not especially humane. I'm sure a very clever Harry could find a way to draw some comparisons between this trap and life/marriage/having children/restoring old MGs or whatever. Bad ger

Badger, I like that idea, I have a 1800's trap that works on the same principle. I'll bet some PETA people will be chiming in soon. Bob TC4956
