T C Starter Bolts and MPJG Engines

Us TA owners can also use M10 x 1.5mm Coarse Cap Screws (Allen Head bolts) to mount our starter motors. The allen head cap screw is easier to fit especially if use a long extension with a hex key fitting on the end. However use a short handle ratchet on the end as space is still tight. Of course us MPJG users have to take rather more care as we have to seal the starter motor to the crankcase to prevent oil seeping out! Oil bath clutch!!. I use silicone sealant and don't forget to put the sealant on the bolts as well as oil can seep past the edges of the bolt> Regards to all Roger Muir Bromsgrove England

Hi Roger and others, Just curious, has anybody fitted a "dry" clutch to a TA? Seems that would be a reasonable thing to do to stop oil leaks from the car. Bloody cold and snow in Canada now but still hope not to get too much "heat" from the purists!! Regards, Bob Grunau.
