Hi All,
Any hints on the procedure to rivet the bottom support pods of the headlamps
to the shell? I believe the pods are painted black. Is this correct? Are
the rivets brass, chrome, or painted black? Also, are the brass nuts that
secure the headlight polished brass or chrome plated? Any help would be
appreciated.

Re: TA Headlight
Hi Lee,
Black is correct for TC that is. My securing nuts were steel then black
oxide.
I didn't have the guts to use rivets. They were bright silver, if I recall
correctly from 30 years ago. Looked like chrome. Instead I used SS screws,
polished the heads, special ones without screw driver slots, and double
nutted them tight on the inside. Might have some left over. Not far away!
Cheers, Peter

Re: TA Headlight
Peter,
As you sound like a crafty sort, do you have any suggestions on the small
rivets on top of the bucket - the one that holds the small lens clip on the
inside? My chrome shop managed to buff them almost off and I have been unable
to find replacements which were small enough.
Thanks for your help.

Re: TA Headlight
I purchased from C.W. Moss Ford Parts in Orange, CA, some smooth head
bolts, to attach the bottom piece to the headlamp bucket. They were
either stainless steel or chrome, with a threaded stud, and nut. Sold in
a package of 12. You could paint the heads black. Once installed, looks
like a rivet head, from the outside. Or, try the Restoration Supply
Company in Reno, NV, for this type of fastener, in black. 775-825-5663.
