Threaded inserts for the 1X8 mm threads are available in the US. When I replaced the clutch in my TC, the bolts from the bell housing to the oil pan were replaced with 5/16NC bolts! I got the helicoil kit from my local auto parts store. They didn't have them in the store, but got them from their warehouse in a couple of days. The M8X1 kit contains about a dozen inserts, the special tap and an insertion tool. Helicoil part number is 5542-8. The only other thing you need is a 21/64" drill bit. With the inserts, you can use the original bolts and not worry about stripping out the threads in the crankcase. Regards, Charles Hill
