Radiator Shell Bolts/Nuts

Post by Bob Zone » Thu Nov 22, 2001 4:04 pm

TC 5995 did not have a radiator grill and it now has a beautiful Clipper Blue one. However, I am short 6 nuts for the retaining bolts that are welded to the newly chromed shell. Does anyone know the size and type thread of these bolts? Many thanks in advance Bob Zone Santa Fe TC 5995

The nuts have been correctly identified as 2BA. This thread form is very close to 10/32. You could clean up the threads with a 10/32 die, for the amount of thread showing. 2BA has 31.5 or 31.8 threads per inch (I can't find my machinists handbook to quote exactly). John Seim Irvine, CA

#2 BA (for the radiator shell) and most other BA, BSF and BSW fasteners are available from Metric and Multistandard Components Corp. (MMCC) which has a West Coast outlet in Sparks, NV. Their website is www.metricmcc.com. FYI, they do not have metric bolts with Whitworth heads. Windom
