Help!! When I removed my rear brake shoes I failed to notice a looped structure bolted onto one shoe on each side. I have looked at drawings, and pictures and catalogues and can't figure out where these things belong, or what they do. Any suggestions??

I think you will find this looped structure is the holder to locate the front end of the horizontal spreader bar on the Handbrake lever assembly, p/n MG700/21 or 22, that activates the rear brakes from the hand brake. It is bolted in place and goes to the inside of the front leading shoe. Its official name from TC parts book is Retaining plate for pushrod, part number MG700/170 .
