Morris 10 Cylinder Blocks

Post by Mark Sellick » Thu Oct 11, 2001 10:46 am

Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone on the list has any experience of radically over-boring Morris 10 XPJM cylinder blocks? What started this train of thought is an article by John Seim about converting an XPAG from 1250cc to 1500cc (Octagon Topics Vol 30, No 7, reprinted in Safety Fast! Vol 45, No 7). I have a couple of XPJM blocks, and it would be interesting to see how big a bore is feasible.
Regards,
Mark

To All

Along with Mark s question, I would like to know what was done in the late thirties to increase the HP of the XPJM

Engine, there has been many articles on the XPAG but I have never seen one, I do not believe, on the XPJM. If there

is material out there, where can it be located. I know the common thing was to replace the engine with a XPAG, or

from another MG car.

Regarding these Morris blocks are these the ones that are 1100 CC? if so I had one of these blocks wet sleeved to 1250 cc (step sleeved of course) 15 yeard ago and the car is running fine, the connecting rods however were pretty spindley and we tossed them out. Joe curto
