I too have kept an old pair of batteries from my TA with the ears. I remember reading something in the UK about rebuilding old batteries, but have since heard through the grape vine that the company offering the service was taken over by one of the bigger battery remanufacturers and no longer does it. I thought that we used to get 6 volt batteries with ears from Interstate Batteries, I believe they were used in Austin Healeys 100-6. Not for nothing given the placement of those batteries and the fact that no one other than the owner would be back there isn't it easier just to make a framed battery hold down and go on with enjoying your car? I've got modern MGB batteries in the car at the moment and have had made up some simple clamps that work fine. However the car is very early and incredibly original, so I thought one day I would like to put old style batteries back in which is why I kept them. Don't know if it still the case, but you used to be able to buy the lids that went over the old batteries from Jaguar XK specialists in the UK. At the moment I have no lids. Tim I believe that Bill Tracey here in USA makes the 6 volt Lucas lid for the batteries on XK 120 but I did not think that MGB's came with them. Joe
