----- Original Message ----- From: Banjomeyer@aol.com Hi, I read the e-mails about the battery hold down, but - blame me - skipped the first e-mail of the TC owner, who asked the question. Maybe this might help you: I still have the original battery of my '49TC #9027, although it is not longer working - it was until last year!!! (now two cells are gone). If you are interested, I can e-mail a photo of the eared battery including the original brackets. Maybe someone could help me with an adress of a company, who can fix the old original battery. I remember reading an article in one of Germany's oldtimer magazines about repairing old batteries some years ago. There was the adress of somebody who is repairing batteries in Germany but unfortunately I did not keep this article. Anyhow, I'll be happy to make some digital photos of the battery/brackets and mail this to anyone who's interested. Please contact me by e-mail on banjomeyer@aol.com Rgds, Peter Meyer

I too have kept an old pair of batteries from my TA with the ears. I remember reading something in the UK about rebuilding old batteries, but have since heard through the grape vine that the company offering the service was taken over by one of the bigger battery remanufacturers and no longer does it. Does anyone have any more info on this? Tim Miller Ross-on-Wye TA0264

I can still get 6v batteries here in the SF Bay Area with ears...also used on
MGA's. My local Moss distributor provides them (Skip Kelsey) but they are
not Moss supplied but local.
In general you can find battery companies that will rebuild your original
batteries inside the original case.
