Back from Beaulieu. Weather was excellent. I had a swell time. Truly
a vintage year. Good friends. Good food (but not on the field!). Good
fun. Seems like just about every other stall I visited I was presented
with yet another glass of wine - starting at about 8:00AM! Beaulieu is
a sort of a combination autojumble/all day wine tasting. Super fun
really. Added another car to my stable, a '37 Morgan 4/4 - 2 seater.
Coventry Climax engine. Similar specification to Morgan's LeMans entry
in that year. Nice original car having been stored for 30 years and in
need of a sympathetic restoration only. Stuck in London for five extra
days due to the extreme unpleasantness stateside. London is a lovely
city and certainly high on my list, worldwide. Not at all a bad place
to be "stuck" and I made the best of it by visiting as many pubs,
restaurants, and museums as humanly possible. There is an incredible
exhibit on the holocaust at the Imperial War Museum which ought not to
be missed. Finally snagged a flight back to Boston Logan but via Miami
of all places. Added about 2500 miles and many hours to my trip but I
was glad to get home. Think maybe I'll make it to Retromobile this year
- for the wine.

Mr. Badger:
I've been going to Retromobile for the last 10 years or so and would hardily
recommend it.
If you do go email me in advance and we'll try to hook up. It's over St.
Valentine's Day so if there is a Mrs. Badger you might like to bring her
along so she can spend what little money you may have left... I speaketh from
experience.
