1. While at the GOF in Reading PA, I noticed that a couple owners had a rear view mirror for their right-hand drive TC's and TD's. The mirror mounted on the center of the windshield via a suction cup. It looked like a good idea. Does anyone know who sells these type mirrors?
2. While installing my upholstery recently, I made a tool to help spread the hidem binding apart so I could install the pins. I took a jumbo paperclip and bent one end up 1/2 inch and the other end up 1/4 inch. The body of the tool is 1 inch long. I then cut off the extra unneeded portion of the paperclip and soldiered the loose ends of the paperclip together (which made up one longitudinal side of the tool) so there where no sharp ends that would cut the binding. I now slipped the tool in the center of the binding to spreading the binding apart. I was able to nail and sink the pins without damage to the binding and without use of a flat screw driver as shown in Malcolm Green's book. The tool also slid along the binding so I could nail long sections. It really worked well. I thought I would share my "Invention" with the group. I suppose I should have patented the idea and then sold it on E-bay so I could become a millionaire! Oh well, I'll invent a phonograph or something to do that.
Hope the above tip helps someone out there!

Mark, Here in the UK I bought one from Halfords, originally to keep an eye on the kids in the back of my wife's car..... I think Wal-Mart have this type of thing, if the normal car accessory shops don't. Dave Aberdeen TC9964

If you want some good mirrors for driving that can be easily removed, try a
motorcycle shop. They have left and right mirrors with stems that can be
mounted in the slot that allows the windscreen to be lowered. I don't
remember if I had to do any modifications to mine, but if I did, it was
minor. They give good vision both the right and left side of the car, and can
be taken off by simply loosening one nut. No holes to drill, no mods to the
car.

I remember at the Binghamton New York Gathering there was a fellow who made
beautiful auxiliary mirrors for T types that mounted in one of the windscreen
stanchion screw holes, this allowed for rear vision and allowed the screen to
be folded. Maybe someone on the list knows who he was.
