Pewter TC

Post by Sundbygt » Sun Jul 29, 2001 7:27 pm

Hi gang. This is my first question for all you other TABC members. I was making the rounds of the local flea market when I came apon this item. It is a nice pewter model of a TC in action. Inside is a driver and his female passenger. Under the car is a gravel/dirt road.Under this platform/base are the words " Official Tribute to the MG/TC,' Taking the Curve' by Raymond Meyers. Sports Car of America".It has the number 78 inside a square. Can anyone give more information on this item ? Is 100$ Canadian a reasonable price for this item ? Thanks for your help.

I can t give you any history on this pewter model but I was given one by a very close friend several years ago. So, there are at least two of them around, yours and mine. The base of mine reads just like yours including the number 78. Could this be the year the model was produced?

Hi, I believe it is a Franklin Mint Model issued several years ago at a cost of $125 US. Its a great model and I have been checking ebay to find more details about it. Cheers, Lee Jacobsen, Dearborn, MI TA Tickford 2969 (still fitting door trim).

Hi TC'ers- I have one of these pewter TC items which I bought from the Franklin Mint about 23 years ago. It sits on my desk and I paid a $180 dollars for it even back then. I have the ad out of the magazine, I think Road & Track that says ordering deadline is April 30 1978. I have no idea what they are worth. -----Original Message----- From: Sundbygt [mailto:sundbygt@csource.net] Sent: Sunday, July 29, 2001 10:25 PM To: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Subject: [mg-tabc] Pewter TC Hi gang. If you can get this for $100.00CDN. Then you got a bargain. They were over $100.00US when they were first offered to the public back in I believe the early 70's. I have seen them go for $300.00US in recent times. I have one that I bought new, sitting on my TV. Cheers; Skip Kelsey.......................................At 10:25 PM 7/29/01 -0400, Sundbygt wrote:
