TC spotted

Hi Whitworth Heads, FYI there is a very artistic period photo of a TC parked under the arches in Liverpool Station. Two railway workers are seen pausing to admire its lines. I found it in a new book about railway stations called "Station to Station" by Parissian, a remarkable work in its own right. Cheers, Peter

Was watching the Turner Classic Movies channel; "The Lavender Hill Mob" c.1951 (old Alec Guinness movie) and saw great shot of a TC head on in traffic, that approached the camera and then passed. Somehow I seem to remember that there is an archive of such sightings somewhere for these references to be added to, but I can't remember where. TCSYD.

Fascinating! Could not see The Lavender Hill Mob, and very few of the cars have recognisable registrations. In the TA section is OSJ 318 which is actually TB0563, restored from a pile of scrap by Tony Roodhouse, now sadly no longer with us, and now owned by his brother Roger. LTR 573 is TA1861 owned at the time by Alastair Naylor, and used in the filming of the TV series "Heartbeat". It was discovered in a barn by the character Greengrasss (seen alongside) and alledgedly restored by the village bobbie (policeman) Nick Rowan. The producer contacted me through the MGCC to ask how much such a car would be worth, so I consulted the classified pages of Motor Sport for the time and gave then an estimate of 100 old-fashioned British pounds. The car featured quite often in the series, all filmed in the beautiful Yorkshire dales. Happy MotorinG ! Roger

While I did not write it down at the time and now I do not recall it, as I recall, the car in The Lavender Hill Mob had very clearly discernible registration plate. Syd
