Wedges and Datsun

I am contemplating fitting a complete Datsun 240Z to my MG TC Steering wedges in order to achieve a better handling MG TC. Anyone know the best way to fit the MG badge to the bonnet or does this impare the aerodynamics? Clive

I have a refrigerator door magnet that is the brown and cream "MG" emblem. Sometimes I stick it to the front of my '89 Ford T-bird but it cant hang on much over 80.....and then the bird leaves a big oil puddle on the driveway..... Bill Traill DCO: TC #5221

Hi Whitworth Heads, I want all sane members to vote to disband our "steering committee". They never fail driving us onto a slipper slope from which there is no recovery, no matter what kind of tiller they prefer. Can't help you there, Clive, but back in 1970 I fitted a complete Volkswagen Beetle to an MG radiator badge, then drove it to a New England MG 'T' Register Gathering of the Faithful. The gathered faithful were NOT amused! Chip

But wait, a new idea hidden in this message: Has anyone tried replacing the sterring wheel with a tiller? Some early cars used them, sailboats use them, could this improve the slop in a Bishop cam?

Another sure fire way to reduce the "Bishop cam slop" (wasn't that a popular dance in the 50s?) would be to convert to the "skid steer" system. This would involve welding the stub axles in the straight ahead position thereby totally eliminating any tendency to "wander" at speed. Then, adding a second brake pedal and splitting the braking system so that the left pedal locks the left side wheels and the right pedal locks the right side wheels. This system would have the added advantage of allowing the complete elimination of the entire steering wheel, column, box, and etc. The lucky driver would then have both hands free (while steering with the brake pedals) to gesticulate in a rude manner to other motorists, and/or wave madly to similarly enlightened drivers of steering wheel-less MGs.
