FYI - the grey I'm using is PPG Concept acrylic urethane DCC 32490. Raise the
bonnet and you can almost smell the Spitfires and Hurricanes.
Body color (black) sure would be a lot easier, but????

Hi Tom and Chip et all,
I agree,I think Woody was wrong! It just makes no sense that the underside
of the bonnet was different colour from the outside.
It just goes to prove that just because it is written in a book, does not
mean it is true. Too many people assume that if some guy wrote it in a fancy
book its true!! Not so. The TD Restoratiopn Manual for instance has a lot of
errors. Some people say even the official factiory manuals have errors,
though I am much more inclined to believe them than some book written 50
years after the car was produced.

Tom Back in 1964 I had a 1946TC, a very original and untouched car even for that time. The engine and firewall were a nondescript greenish grey, and the underside of the bonnet was as black as the outside. Because of the need for masking I can't imagine that the factory would have painted one side of the panel a different color to the other. No doubt others can also provide firsthand reports. I own an early 1946 TC. The bonnet undersides are the same color as the
car, in my case Red.
The Bulkhead is a greenish grey.
