And another "yay" from Colorado to Carl and Bruce!!. As one of the early listers (and older in more ways than one) (I think Bob Grunau signed me in when we were a band of 33 or so), I've kept most of the material on one disk or another (about 12,000 emails). It is inevitable that the wealth of information therein was: a) not useful to most of us at the time it was submitted or discussed, b) in need of sorting as a future compendium of invaluable(?) technical fact and opinion and c) would be useful to new members and later owners of our cars. So, between that and lazy housekeeping, I have most of our old "stuff".

I'd suggest that anyone who has also kept a large file let our new listers know who you are, and if you are willing to search for old information. That way, we won't bore some of the impatient old "experts" with repeated threads, and avoid embarrassment for new listers.

Bob.... your letter sounds as if you will have a helluva lot more to offer to the group than some of the cranks that complain more than they contribute. I'd be happy to help, should you need or want some history of any discussion topic and a little time to wait for it... and I'm sure that you'll find that the more knowledgeable guys feel the same way. It won't take you very long to find out who they are. They are certainly in the vast majority, so don't be intimidated.

I wish I had the time to sort it all out, as our old (digested) emails would make a great addendum to Mike's great book. Any ideas?

I totally agree with Austin and others. The only stupid question is the one not asked. We shouldn't be discouraging new members - or older members for that matter - from asking questions about their T cars. If anyone is interested, I have most of the emails that I have received since I joined the list. My ATT email is POP3, not internet, so once they download, I just file them in a folder. I have still have about 1GB of space available so that should last a while. Regards, Charles Hill

Folks, A l-o-o-o-o-ng time ago I put together a Microsoft Access database of TABC emails. It's still available on Walter's website under 'Special Files'. I distributed copies to several members at the time. The database is searchable by, as I remember, up to five keys, by subject and/or content. The version on the web site holds about the first year's worth of emails I think. I haven't updated it for a long time, but if there's sufficient interest I'll do so (as an Access 97 file).
