Let me jump in here and say one more thing about the Judson, it has a
lot of mass, everything about it is heavier, just try and fit the parts
on the car, because of this, it seems to me, that you have more
vibration, because of the rotating mass, which may not be completely in
balance. Because of the mass, if you step on it, you would be putting
more of a stress on the belts. I feel that the belts are worn out
faster on it verses a Shorrock. Take the main part of a Shorrock, it is
much lighter, as is the whole unit. Regards Dean

superchargers
Hello all,
I found Monsieur Redman's article on the Toyota blower, and have heard there is a M45 that works........however, there appears to be a LOT of extra tubing involved.
Anyone happen to know where a supercharger can be found (with some fabrication, OK) that mounts on the same side as the Moss, etc. units? I would like something that looks somewhat original....or add-on original, I should say!
How about you Aussie magicians??
Best,
Ray

Re: superchargers
G'day Ray,
I have a mate with a TC running a Tojo blower same as the one in the
photos, mounted R/H side. Much simpler and neater, however the unit is
upside-down when mounted this side. It doesn't seem to mind.
Will try to get photos up.
Regards
JR

SUPERCHARGERS
Hi All,
I am leaning towards supercharging my TC, however I know very little about them
except they will get you up the hill better. I have a couple of concerns and
questions about them and like to thank you all in advance for your opinions and
expertise.
There are several different makes and models out there! SO, I don't want to
modify the hood. I want something that is more sound and reliable than the
others, and something in which parts are available?
Also by supercharging the engine, is it highly recommended to beef up
everything downstream from the supercharger like putting in a chrome moly crank
and axle shafts, etc. ? If so, are there any other recommended parts to replace
to carry the extra torque?
Your opinions, experience here, recommended reading and supplier names will be
much appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Barry

Re: SUPERCHARGERS
There are any superchargers out there , Marshall, Judson, Schorrock etc these are old period units and can be hard to get , there are a few guys making new units, Moss had a nice set up a few years back but stopped ( but I hear rumors of a new run) There is a fellow in California making some kits too. Yes you would be wise to beef up any units down stream as well as make ssure the engine is in nice shape . I have one on my TD most of the units fit under the bonnett . If you want you could gicve mea call 718 762-7878 9-5 EST and I can paqss on some info
