John, I some others have pointed you toward photos of EXU bumpers, but as to your other question - These bumpers are very rare - only 494 cars had them originally and many have been lost through the years for one reason or another. Considering the way MG worked back then, my theory is that the bumpers were also used on some other British car of the era, but I have never seen anything to confirm this. This may not be of any practical use. I think that the TC EXU bumpers were taken right off the YT. I have had my YT side by side with a an EXU and eyeballing them but without a tape measure they look the same. The brackets and backbar also look to be the same. Last time I looked NTG in England sold some kind of conversion kit so that TD bumpers could be used on Ys. Terry in Vancouver cycletoys wrote:

Those overriders shown on the EXU on page 16 of Malcom Greens book are not correct. These overriders are off a TD or Morris and modified. The original EXU overriders were close to this. If anyone wants pictures I can send them. Jim Sullivan TC 7517 EXU in Kent Washington USA

I think Jim is right. Real EXU bumper overriders hang down a bit more under the face bar. I think these are Morris Minor overriders shown. MM overriders fit quite well with no modification, but they are not correct. I have correct EXU overriders on the front of my TC. Morris Minor on the rear. I have one additional proper EXU overrider for installation on the rear. I need one more EXU overrider. Anybody have an extra EXU overrider? That would make my bumpers correct for the EXU. TC EXU Bumpers

Some of you may remember that I recently came upon an original set of bumpers but the owner wanted $600 and they were in need of at least rechroming. He was unwilling to negotiate lower at the time I tried to buy them. If your interested I'll put you in touch. Sincerely, Stewart S.
