The last and final Daylight Savings TIme Julian Tech Session will happen on
Saturday October 25, 2003. (Yeah, right....for this year!)
See Eagle Mike pull a doohickey out of his pocket. Watch his springs zing.
See Buddy spill a quart of new oil on his clean floor.
Watch Jim the Canoeist attempt to get off his KLR after riding straight in
from Phoenix (and I thought Tony Cornett was our longest distance
traveler).
Who's doohickey has taken a crap?
Who's engine will not survive the harrowing disassembly process?
Who will eat the most do-nuts?
Who just got a new bike? (It's ALL MIKES FAULT)
Dino oil (CAstrol 20W50) and filters on hand...........a modicum of tools
as well....including tools for a doohickey-ectomy. If you can let me know
by tomorrow (10/16), I can get Gen you ine Kawasaki parts from a secret
source.
Learn something from Elden Carl!!!
Watch the KLR Magic happen, right before your very eyeballs!!!
Be there or don't....it's all on you.
Buddy

Could be. The fine debris I get from cleaning out my SS oil filter does not
adhere to a magnet (I tested it).
Similarly, I do not get anything at all on my magnetic drain plug, ever.

JULIAN TECH DAY
To all those inquiring minds...........Tech Day IS happening tomorrow.
Never heard of a little snow or rain to keep the KLRistas at home.
Mike's gonna be here with stuff, Mark's gonna be here with a ride and
stuff for the Multisurfacemotorcycling website, Elden's gonna be here with
the brains and I'm gonna be here 'cause I got the key to get in.
My CALTRANS weather guy is forecasting cold and dry tomorrow with frost
and some freeze on the SR 79 between I 8 and the lake in the early morning.
Take it easy on the 79 and you should be OK. Mouser has been dead accurate
over the past 4 years, so if he says it ain't gonna rain or snow, it ain't.
I'll be running a big jet heater in the morning and have coffee on at 8
ish.............and hot water for you tea guys. Dress warmly 'cause it
will be chilly.
Direction for them that's not been here yet................Get to Julian.
When you come to the stop sign at the town hall.......if the town hall is
to your right, turn left, go down two blocks and there you are. If the
town hall is to your left, go straight thru the stop sign and go up two
block and you're there, too. If you go past the red fire station, you've
gone too far.
Look for the big tin building next to the fire station. Address is 2656
Farmer Road. Phone number is 760 765 0483.

Harry, I stopped by earlier in February just to get a look at the famous "tin building" next to the fire station. I met with and visited with one of the "older" firemen there who used to be a teacher--well, he was at least older than I was. Sorry, I don't recall his name. I was staying out at Anza-Borrego and wanted to do the Rodriguez/Oriflamme Canyon trails. He was helpful in giving me some insights on the trail since he had recently done it in a Jeep. I had breakfast at Buffalo Bills and even had a buffalo pattie with my eggs--buffalo...it's what's for breakfast. Those trails were a lot of fun, and that 1 mile stretch in the middle of Orriflamme had a few challenging spots in it, I guess due to some rough rains in the recent past. I was amazed to see how well the fires had been contained in the area in light of their severity. Oh, I also got a kick out of the "fake" lock on the gate by the Banner entry into Rodriguez/Orriflamme Canyon trail...creative. BTW, I didn't see your e-mail until I returned last night from my trip or I would have probably tried to contact you for a ride or at least local info. Thanks for the offer, anyway. Hey, who was riding the KLR's across BLM land west of the US 93 just south
of Wikieup, AZ? Looks like LOTS of open space in that part of Arizona.
Thanks to everyone who made it up to the Tech day on the 28th. The Earth
must have experienced a micro-wobble with 27 KLRs and 7 Beemers crammed
into such a small area!!! I was pleasantly surprised by all who came, in
spite of the morning's weather. It looks like everybody made it home in
one piece. We'll host another Tech day in early May and in August and have
a really big bash in October. A 2 and a half day event with several SD
County rides and Elden's overnighter to Baja.
See you all later
Buddy
