Recently bought a 2008 KLR 650 with 3300 miles on it that hasd sat for 3 years. Replaced all the Jets in carb except can't get pilot jet out. Backs out about 4 turns then stops. Have chipped off some of the jet head to the point I on want to try anymore. Any recommendations? I would put some penetrating oil on it and let it set a day or so. Then work it back and forth genitally.  Sounds like crud that formed above the jet.  That failing , drill and easyout attempt . 

Or, I would just run a small drill bit though it that is the same diameter as the jet and call it good. I drilled mine one size larger for tuning purposes.

Or you could try some Kroil this is my go to for rusty bolts and galled threads. Apply some and let it set for a while then try to loosen then tighten then loosen.Apply more and let it set overnight. Works for me 95% of the time. Ps: KLR is Green and on CL if you would like pictures. Sent from my iPhone

Likely, the threads are built up with some corrosion. Sometimes a plug or bottoming tap will go deep enough to solve the problem. Otherwise I run the tap in, then use a magnifier and scrape the threads using picks.

I've had one like that for a couple of years. I use Simple Green, Windex and a couple of other things, depending. The only issue has been that the plastic basket breaks so ordered a wire one.
