IIRC, 1987-1990 MSRP was $2,999.

Ah, here's some info, if the author is correct: $2,999 for '87. The price did go up in the following years. http://watt-man.com/uploads/KLR_Timeline.pdf

Hello Ryan,Just curious, could you describe the warrenty period on some of the batteries you are suggesting. As I recall, most wet, lead acid batteries, such as Walmart, only have a 6m warrenty. As far as the poor service you got from the LiPO battery, I would suggest you buy certain perishable = 'some' things, with a credit card.If the product goes South, you have some recourse, (cancel the purchase) with the credit card company. On the other hand, I think the Hobby shop that sold you that battery deserves the widest, unfriendly 'recommendation' possible. m1. Shorai, however, puts out a solid Lithium-Iron (FE), that weighs about a pound, for semi-reasonable money. I'd either buy that, a cheapie at Walmart, or an Oddessey. At least with an Oddessey you can buy them, and warranty them, at any batteries Plus place. I can also warranty my Shorai at my local bike shop. But personally, I'd never buy something like that, that I can't easily warranty somewhere. Doesn't help your search, but maybe helps on another angle of thought. A story that might sway your case. Of similar money are LiPo remote control car batteries, which can cost anywhere from $30 to well over $100. I bought a brand that was new to me, ran it once, it wouldn't recharge, and when I tried to return it, the hobby shop said that brand doesn't have any warranty policy. I was pissed. This all happened on the same day. Since wasting $75 on one of those batteries, I'm a bit pickier about all of my batteries. Ryan Phoenix On 2/13/2016 12:29 AM, libertyeagle@... I cannot find the information on where I got it, can anyone remember and send me the link? I think they were out of Pennsylvania? Michael
