thermo bob vs drilling hole in thermostat

Post by achesley43@ymail.com » Sat Feb 06, 2016 7:00 am

As what Jeff says > I went to his Thermobob 2 after reading his data on my 16 yr old KLR. Love the way the temp stays more stable in our winters here in frigid South Louisiana where it's 41F as I type this. Of course love my 1st ever mod to the bike > a corbin flat top seat in 2000.

bluetooth headsets - recommendations?

Post by sreichmansr@verizon.net » Mon Feb 08, 2016 7:08 am

I've been using the Cardo ScalaRider TeamSet Pro which gives me rider to pillion intercom, Bluetooth, wired connection to audio input as an option. Is not designed for bike-to-bike but i have used the intercom feature bike to bile with my son at a distance of about a quarter-mile while riding together. Still very clear (line of sight).

Nice and compact, charges last a long time (all day riding).

Equivalent mode available now is the Q1 Teamset: http://cardosystems.com/portfoilio-item/scala-rider-q1-teamset/

Many years usibg Cardoheadsets, I recommend them highly.

Respects,

Steve

NEW Questions,...... 1. Why does it come with a Spare T-stat? 2. The Bypass hose is VERY close to the HOT! Manifold . Should the Pipe be Wrapped with Exhaust pipe Wrapping?(Would think the HEAT would damage the Tubing)  On Tuesday, February 9, 2016 10:00 AM, "'Fred Hink' moabmc@... Been running the T Bob 2 since last spring and no problems through the hot Louisiana summer. Love it in the cold for quick warmup and more stable temps.

Wow, you learn something new every day. After a 150,000 miles on three KLRs I m shocked to discover that the KLR has a modern balanced engine . That s what the Manx site says anyway

John - if you've ever ridden a Manx 500 or a BSA Goldstar you will appreciate the difference! The KLR is like modern silk in comparison. Mark 2002 KLR650 "C" model UK

Been Running on a T-Bob (version 1) Since 2009, no problems with it at all. Still running well. KLR has over 70k. Glad I invested in it.

Extremely reliable bike, robust, did not have to do too much to it to keep it running. Did the typical upgrades (TBob, EM Fork Brace, EM Doo, et al…) Very economical, easy to maintain or repair, reasonably comfortable and stable and as John said “balanced” machine. You get all the fun of a KTM or BMW with less pain to the wallet.

Respects,

Steve
