Kidding aside, I feel really bad for anyone who has this happen. I don't hate BMW of BMW owners although do like to tease them.
This would be an amazingly bad event on a long trip with detour into the back country. Hauling it out to a shop, accommodation while awaiting parts, big parts costs....wow!
Anyone in this part of the world while traveling might wish to keep my contact on file as I often bail people out.
One of my biggest regrets was in having to refuse to collect a broken down KLR about 35 miles away because was up against a deadline to get a friend home to go to work next day while running back and forth to emergency to help with Dad.
