Paul Streeter recommends 7 weight and I'm inclined to agree. I'm running 10 weight at present and it is too firm on rough tarmac and washboad roads. Fred should have the 7 weight here tomorrow. Good morning.
I just put new progressive springs in my 2003 KLR. Has anybody experimented with different fork oils, and which works best. I tip the scales at 280 lbs
At what point are the forks full? Are they filled with the springs in, or out?
I know. I need to buy a manual.

What Jud said. You will surely like it better at 170 mm. I use Mobil 1 ATF. It is supposed to be about 10 wt. It is available just about anywhere that has Autozone or Walmart.
