dry ice myth? nklr

OK,..........so................ an ill wind blew through West Texas and brought with it some golf ball sized hail!!!!   My Toyota Pick up truck suffered some dings (on the hood and roof). I have been told by two different people that one can place dry ice on the dings and that may/might get them to pop out as the metal cools?  Do any of you all have any input on that, putting dry ice on a ding to get it to pop out?  Urban Myth? BTW, I visited a body shop that specializes on Hail Damage and they said they can fix the dings for (gulp - get this) $700!!!!!!  I think they were trying to puff-up the estimate for insurance purposes. Eddie 31N90W P.S.  Almost forgot, what you all want to know is how did the KRL fair?  No problem, it was nestled under its tarp.
