Thinking of a Samsung S5 Active through my carrier ATT... any thoughts, warnings, anyone go through the transition from Apple to Android??? I really hate phones... gotten to the point I need certain features like the camera (to list merchandise), bigger screen old and blind now it seems, sick of needing glasses to see to dial, and Email... Maps are cool... The rest??? Let me know your thoughts, thank you Michael

I have the Samsung Note.  It is very big and truly an amazing pocket computer.   From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 4:50 AM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_KLR650] NKLR Phones     Well, the time I believe has come for a replacement cell phone... mine has a motherboard failure: an old Iphone 3... I have the S4 and like it alot.  I broke the screen and went to the S6 which I immediately returned as several things are different and the 6 doesn't have ability for an SD card.  Also the battery is like the iPhone in that you can't replace it. So, now I have ordered an S5 as it is very close to same capabilities of my S4. I tried the iPhone and couldn't get accustomed to not having a separate row for numbers on the keyboard. I tried the Note and it was too big for my hand even with the adaptation features. The S5 is bigger than the S4, the S6 is a tiny bit bigger than the S5, the Note is the largest. The android will do about any geek thing you can want and is more complex to do it than iPhone. If you've been running iPhone and just need a bigger screen you might look at the iPhone 6 and 6Plus. Sintered pads, like any other pad type may or may not cause excessive rotor wear/abrasion. The answer is not in the selection of a pad type but rather that the material is compatible with the rotor material and service. Stainless rotors are generally harder than cast iron, for example, so pad material which is intended for stainless may be hard on cast iron.

I have bandaged My old Iphone together for another short while, but I believe that I shall end up purchasing the Samsung s5 Active, I think it fits my lifestyle and needs and far cheaper than the Iphone6+... Trying to research out how to do the transition with the least painful learning curve. For someone that can build a computer from a box of used parts... stuff like cell phones and TV remotes DRIVE ME NUTS. Truly loathe upgrading tech stuff. Thank you for all your help, anyone that has made the Iphone to Android has any advice I would appreciate it. Michael

Samsung Smart Switch is the simplest way to transfer all your stuff.  It is a free download.Randy Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone -------- Original message --------From: "libertyeagle@... My advice is to narrow down your choice first to a phone operating system. There are three phone OSs worthy of consideration. In order of decreasing market share they are Google s Android, Apple s IOS and Microsoft s Windows Phone. I d advise looking at a phone or two from each operating system but ignore phone features (number of megapixels of the camera[s] etc ). Once you have found an operating system you like then go look at phones that have that operating system. Note that each of these Operating System companies try to force you into a marketplace where the OS maker (and only the OS maker) can sell you applications. So part of the OS selection process involves looking at the applications that are available. Those application choices might chose the OS for you. As one example my physician has to have an Android phone since the application that her employer uses to access patients charts runs only on Android. Also worth noting that if you are not buying or selling something on the internet then you are the product being sold. Those application marketplaces that sell applications for your phone require you to have an account on that system (e.g. a Gmail account for Android, an Apple account for IOS, a Microsoft Account for Windows Phone.) The company that created the OS uses the account as a GUID (globally unique ID) to track your activity on the web and monetizes that tracking by using the data to target ads. Free applications are as a group even more egregious in the data they demand you surrender as payment for their free application.
