brake pads
Good day all
I prefer non sintered pads.
Sintered (sp?) pads wear away the rotor as they work.
Over the life of the bike, one could end up replacing the rotor several times.
At $300 a pop, is it worth it.
I have been using non-sintered pads for the life of my bike.
Currently at 86,000 miles, with the original rotors, front and rear.

brake pads
Gaffer green and black for me no problems with these pads

It depends upon which EBC pads you got, I believe. I put the EBC HH, sintered metallics on my Transalps, DL1000, KLR650 and Super Tenere and all saw an improvement in stopping power once warm. The DL1000 ate rear pads like candy (3 or 4 sets in 35k miles). One set was of the non-metallic variety and if I remember right, they neither lasted as long - relatively speaking - as the metallics nor did they stop as well. On all the other bikes and brake locations, the HH pads served quite well and lasted a long time without undue wear on the rotors. Note that they never saw any mud or freal off-road (ab)use." --- New Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail replacement - get it here: http://www.oeclassic.com/ -eddie Original Message: From: RobertWichert robert@... brake pads
EBC Brakes are usually Painted, to Identify What pad it is. Red, Green, etc.. And on the back says EBC, (If the dirt has not worn off the Ink stamp.)
In fact I had to scrape off some paint off the edges for my last set of rear pads to slip into place.

rear brake hose bracket modification

It places the hose to the outside of the swing arm where it can be snagged by branch & rock; & wraps unnecessarily around the swing arm.
I think it can be improved by removing the ends which clip around the swing arm, drilling holes to allow the remaining loop portion of the bracket to be mounted to the top of the swing arm where it supports the hose out of the line of snagging protrusions.
