circus time & helping children
CIRCUS TIME, Choose the Shrine Circus, it is a fundraiser for the Local Shriners.
HELP THE SHRINERS HELP THE CHILDREN!
WE HAVE 22 HOSPITALS, NO COST TO THE FAMILY
Many of us are Volunteer Drivers, that will transport the Mother & child to the Hospital Needed.
So when you go to the SHRINE CIRCUS, YOU ARE HELPING SHRINERS HELP CHILDREN.
Know of a child that needs help? (I personally know, children, that 6+ doctors said SORRY "NOTHING WE CAN DO" and the SHRINERS HOSPITALS DID HELP THEM WALK AGAIN, Rid them of SCARS, ETC. ETC.
We do NOT let "CHEAP, HEARTLESS" insurance companies, get in the way of HELPING A CHILD. (MY PERSONAL OPINION here.)

cold engine starts
I just bought a 2007 Kawasaki KLR650. Its hard to crank when it is cold. once it cranks and warms up it cranks very easy. I also noticed a little pop occasional when giving it gas or letting up. Bike has 4300 miles. It did sit up for quite some time and the carb. was supposed to be cleaned up.
This is the way it was when I got the bike.
It doesn't seem to matter what yo do with the choke,

The way gasoline is these days, it wouldn't take more than a couple of months for a cleaned carb to revert to being a gunked-up carb. But, if your bike will run, the mess is probably minimal.Seafoam, etc... might help.
That the choke setting has no effect is a bit of a concern. If the choke mechanism is functioning properly, there could be something amiss inside the carb. Can you determine if the mixture screw has been adjusted? (see if the hole is still plugged or not.) Assuming the carb is indeed clean and if it's unplugged and accessible, there's a chance all it needs is a minor tweak. If it's still capped, Google " KLR 650 22 cent mod" and proceed from there. =)
All in all, aim for the simple stuff first.
Let us know what you find!
