blue ridge pwy camping

Post by mark ward » Wed Oct 29, 2014 10:21 am

Taking the Blue ridge E& N of Asheville NC about 36 miles is a Single lane dirt "road" that has a Nat. park campgrounds on it.
About 10 miles in. (road runs 19 miles between Blue ridge & highway 70 E of town of Old Fort)
The 1st ten miles off the BR is DOWN HILL TWISTIES, & HAIR PINS, (Some doing a 180 then?)
$4-$5. a night IN the campgrounds, Fresh WATER, but, NO flush T's or showers. just outside the gate are FREE sights, burn pits etc.
The "Creek" 50 ft away, was running so hard (& LOUD) we thought there was a 20 ft+ high & wide waterfalls! NICE
Workers said If it rains, they often need a 4x4 to get back up the hill to the B.R.
