fs 2008 shock

Post by libertyeagle » Thu Sep 25, 2014 5:00 am

I have decided to sell my shock off of my 2008, was in good working condition when I took it off... Asking $135 or best offer and I can ship to lower 48 states, or you can pick up in Northern California. Or will consider a trade for a quality center stand for the Gen 2 KLR, will need all hardware. Picked an '08 shock up off Ebay a couple years ago. Bolts right on the 1st Gen KLR for those not knowing.

The shock length and upper mounting bolt are the same for both early and late KLRs but the lower mounting bolt is different.  The lower clevis is thinner on the late model and takes a shorter mounting bolt.  You can use a early model bolt with a late shock but not the other way around.  You will need to install a couple of washers under the head of the longer bolt for it to work on the late model shock. LOL Fred,
You made me have to go out and look at my shock. Yes, forgot I had put in shiming washers. Fixing to take it all apart next week for maintenance on all that stuff that moves down there. Plus other issues.

It got to be one harsh ride without a shock. You MUST be hard up. :)

I will have to wait until a Gen2 bike is here with some time to spend but will gather more information at that time.   It's coming into not-riding time for some folks so hoping we can obtain some of the photos.   Anyone able to help?   No electrical knowledge is necessary, just willingness to look and take some photos.

I have one without the sprocket or sprocket carrier.  If you are interested, you can contact me off list.   Fred http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com   From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2014 6:24 AM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] FS 2008 Shock
