mc brakes tip #99

Post by mark ward » Thu Sep 18, 2014 12:05 pm

Hey Y'all
YA ANOTHER  Brake thread. LOL (But 1 I have not seen before)
I have newer Green pads on the front, maybe 600 +- miles?. (thanks for the advise John)
And flushed the fluids 4000+- miles ago.
And I noticed they were NOT grabbing like new.  HMMMM?
Today they GRABBED. HMMMMM again.
It dawned on me, After changing the tires yesterday, scrubbing rims etc., last thing I did before replacing the brakes, I cleaned the rotors WITH BRAKE CLEANER.
When we ride during (after) a rain, the OILS on the road get thrown up into the air, (Note washing bike needed) and the Front sprocket is RIGHT THERE, Ready to catch all that OILY water.
MOST soaps leave a residue. Hence Brake cleaner.
