I've had two wasp stings this year. One just under the arm and one about an inch above the right nipple. They will make your eyes cross for awhile. Made me buy one of those perforated jackets for sure.

I was in a rest area off a NY. Toll rd. in the cafe area when I got stung on my back. With my Coat on, I was sitting in a booth, eating and on the cell when I jumped up DANCING AND YELLING a bit, STRIPPING AWAY my coat, 50-70 people looking my way, when I picked the cell back up Off the FLOOR, and said to my friend at me next stop, I got stung inside my coat, the looks change on all the folks that thought I was NUT'S. I was out riding the other day and got a big fat bug turned to goo on my face plate. I don't know what to do to avoid that in future but do draw satisfaction from the realization that it won't have guts enough to do that again. :-)

This discussion reinforces my belief that adding a handlebar windshield is a must on pavement. My Slipstreamer CF30 has served me well for many miles. Funny thing .for a long time/50k miles it moved and needed to be adjusted regularly so much so that  I kept the necessary tools handy in my tank panniers. For the last 20k miles, or so, the hardware seems to have welded itself to my handlebar; the setup has needed zero adjustments. Some time ago, I posted the pin out diagram for the main wiring plugs in front of the headlight.

 

I just bought a Gen1 wiring harness which I intend to lay in position to identify locations for the terminations/plugs and to take photos. Following this, I intend to strip the loom/tape from the harness and to trace and identify each wire with its terminations/connections. While I don't require this information, it is hoped that it may be helpful to those doing trouble shooting.

 

My bike is tied up for a few days waiting for a new exhaust gasket to replace the one robbed to get a traveler back on the road so seems like a good time.

 

Can anyone offer thoughts/suggestions as to the "how" so as to make this more useful to others?

 

I'm going to destroy the harness to at least some degree so will only get one chance to do this from the original configuration.
