chain lube - i was converted.........
Right, so I know that the issue of chain lube has NEVER come up in this forum previous hereto (cough, cough)............. But, I have seen the light, I was converted.
I was of the "First Clean the Chain with WD 40 - then lube it with 90 weight oil school of thught." Then, I tried the spray on can stuff............... and I have seen the light, I am converted to the spray on stuff, glory be.
The WD + oil system is great and then I get droplets all over the place......... no matter how much I try to dry it. With the spray on stuff, I don't get that mess and so far it seems to keep the chain well lubed.
Man, I hope that I did not just open a can of worms............... just my opinion.

Eddie,I am not sure what you just said. shrug.
If you said, "Clean it with WD-40, and go ride" I would say yes. that is right. If you said, "Clean it with WD-40 and then hit it with 90W oil so sand and grit will eat the O-rings and Fred can sell you a new chain at
revmaaatin.no can of worms here; but I do know where there is a fresh Brazalian that does not require WD-40 or 90W....

We've been using the spray on stuff for ages. Some of it will still end
up on the back wheel, depending on the type of lube. The "wax" stuff (or
whatever they call it now) doesn't fling very much, but the standard
spray lube does tend to get on the back wheel and other bits.
We'll usually just let the chain get nasty and gummed up for a while,
and either replace it, or soak it in a gallon of carb cleaner. By the
time it looks bad, it usually has some miles on it, so it's your choice
as to which way to go. You can buy the gallon metal tubs at Walmart for
$25 in their automotive section, usually on the bottom shelf. Soak it
for a day or two and it looks brand new when it comes out.
