shift lever

Heck Fred,
Knew my mind was going south. LOL! Probably what ever you were selling then. It's was grey with the folding front. After all the years, all other marking are gone. After a long time, I had to slice just a bit more to make it close tighter on the shifter shaft.

laid the klr down

Last evening I laid the KLR Down... woman Texting rolled out of a parking lot without stopping at the stop sign and stopped blocking two lanes of traffic. Almost got the bike stopped but went down at the last moment and stopped a foot from her drivers door... she looks down at me, still blocking traffic of a 5 lane road, and goes back to texting... guys come running up to help me... she drives off, never even opened her window... one of the witnesses said he seen her going down the block to Starbucks and getting a coffee... Oh, and to top it off it was very light traffic and no reason for her to stop at all except the damm cell phone. Blessed with a couple riders seeing it, helping me and the bike out of the street, and that other than a few scrapes both Emerald (the KLR) and I are fine. Still pissed off, but fine. Thank God for Crash bars and metal boxes!!! May have gotten my girlfriend to quit that damm texting and driving... she was more scared than I was. Michael

Wow! Glad you are okay! a second later on the brakes and it could've been way worse! I see someone texting and doing something stupid almost every single time I drive/ride. Michael, have you got a louder than stock horn on your bike? If not, a Stebel Compact Nautilus air horn might be a neat Valentine's Day gift. As for her driving away, she caused and accident and left the scene. I hope the police got involved at some point. This reminded me of a guy on a raggedy 1989 Transalp I met 10 years ago at a bike campground. He slid trying to avoid a woman in a SUV. The lady ran partially over the bike and kept going...with a flattened tire. This guy got up, restarted the bike and chased her. SHE called the police on her cell to say there was some crazy guy on a bike following her. {Like she had no idea why?} They both were stopped by police and he quickly told an officer what had happened. His story got some serious credibility when he showed them the big tire mark across the white Honda and his missing foot peg in her flattened tire. =) -eddie in Ga.

Glad your ok, . I m sure her text involved solving world hunger or curing cancer but still she should have got out and checked that everyone was ok That s the unforgivable part Shellon & Stu ~~~~~/)~~~~~ "Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile. I was leaving a restaurant I have lunch at 3 - 5 times a week yesterday. About 10 seconds before going through an intersection with a long...green light in my Miata, an SUV just blew through the intersection....clearly on the red....no yellow, no nada. He would have plowed through my little Miata driver side door possibly killing me (as happened to one of my sons friends). I ride one of my bikes about half the time going to lunch. Be real paranoid approaching intersections amigos. Criswell Sent from my iPad
