I just collected a wiring harness from a 2008 Dodge truck. A friend had replaced it because of a partial wiring fire so I'm set for several more years of color coded wire. I've mentioned this before but don't know if anyone uses this solution. Tons of wire, with various colors and striping as well as a number of plugs, although haven't checked to see if any male female combinations.

 

I really like being able to wire things with color coded wire rather than having to pull the same three or four colors off the rolls and then sorting through the bunch of all the same color when modifying or troubleshooting. Cost = $Zero

 

Self service auto wreckers are usually quite reasonable on these and many times a regular auto wrecker will make you a deal on an already removed harness which they can't sell.
