Like the layout. Not sure about the green. And the KORG font is awful.
Russel'r -> my two cents

Hi Robert: Wow! What a neato dash. I sure wish I had the ability and talent
to do that. Did you upgrade the alternator and regulator to handle the things
you connect to the 12 volt outlets, and can you use a 100 watt headlight at
the same time? Great job. Patent it, tool up for manufacturing and sell it.

I haven't touched the charging system, I had contemplated that unit from
Electrex but I had a suspicious feeling about it. Steve Vantuyver's
experience with it confirmed it. I am curious to find out if the USMC did
any upgrades in this area, I'd spring for a Mil spec power upgrade.
I have always run a 100/80 watt H 4 bulb and have never had any trouble
with it. I have recently seen a 130/100 watt bulb somewhere, I might like
to try that. The stuff I have run out of the sockets so far doesn't pull
much juice, GPS and CB. My Darien keeps me warm enough here in San Diego.
One of the reasons I put the headlight defeat switch on the bike was in the
event I ran the batt low it might charge more easily with the head light
off.
I made a second dash panel to keep as a pattern. My buddy rebuilds and
restores aircraft. He is an authority on Helio Couriers. Viet Nam era bush
plane built primarily for the CIA. Remember the movie "Air America". You
guessed it. He also has designed, patented, and produces custom FLIR
infrared camera mounts to facilitate mounting the latest generation military
spy hardware on Police helicopters. Anyway If enough people are interested
I'll see if Murray will let me spit some out on one of his CAD mills. He
has an astounding collection of aircraft fabricating equipment and he lets
me play with it. I used to run his hang gliding company years ago...we go
way back. I (we) built the first foot launched aircraft to fly a 100 miles
in a single flight. Those were the days. Anyone that thinks I am over the
edge now should have seen me then.
Back to the dash thing. I looked for some time for smaller LCD display
units. I had hoped to find industrial displays for volts and amps, and time
and temp, side by side. Radio shack (of all places) had some in the big
catalog that looked promising but seemed to have odd voltage requirements.
I tried to inquire further but the counter people were just that, counter
people. I still have my eye open for potential display units to put
together a complete unit.
