[dsn_klr650] upgrade headlights

Hi group,   Well last weekend I found out how hard it is to ride up and down curvy roads with just a high beam headlight.  Completely lost the road at times.  A bit scary driving by the tree line.  Since  I need to replace, do you recommend any upgrades to the headlights for a 2008 KLR?  I will probably just order from Fred, so he is welcome to chime in with what he has in stock.  I'll likely get two, and use the existing high as my backup bulb.  Thanks, Peter in St. Louis.

The Philips Xtravision lights work well. You can get 'em in your local auto parts store for $10-15 each. 2nd gen bikes take 2 @ H7 lamps; the oldies take 1 @ H4, I believe. The Silver Stars are brighter but they don't last very long. -Jeff Khoury

There are quite as many options for the H7 bulb for your bike as the older model KLR.  What I sell in my shop are listed on my Parts Pages. These are all 55 watt bulbs and should be fine in your KLR.  The H7 bulb is used in both the high and low beams.  There are 100 watt bulbs available that are not DOT legal.  I would have to order those.  The 100W H7 bulbs sell for about the same as the 55W.  PIAA also makes H7 bulbs but they sell for about $50 each.  If you are interested in either the 100W H7 bulbs or the PIAA H7 bulb, let me know and I can add them to my web site.
