problem with tank reserve
Here is a problem that I can't figure out. I rode all day and as I was getting home, less than a quarter mile from my drive way, I ran out of gas. So, I reached down and turned the petcock to reserve and the engine came to life and got me on up the road and into the drive way, just as it is supposed to do. However, the next day when I went to go to town it ran out of fuel about a mile down the road. This time it was already on reserve and I was OUT of gas. Now, what happened to the rest of the gas? I have not observed any leaking of fuel. Any experiences or guesses? The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits. Albert Einstein

problem with tank reserve
Thanks guys for the replies. I think I will try to fix it even though there is the possibility of it never happening again. Here is one thing I want to point out again: the I only got 230 miles on that entire FULL tank whereas I normally would get 250 before reserve kicked in. Thus, I'm inclined to believe there is a leak somewhere. I check the oil and it is right where I put it before the trip. Here is one thing about the fuel: it was EZ MARK fuel (cheaper) and that could have been the problem, but I have my doubts about that.On 9/26/2013 4:38 AM, Robert Waters wrote:
