Amazing. Awesome. Impossible. But doing it. I have a friend who I sent a trials video to and he's saying "Oh, I could do that if I had a TRIALS bike". My reply: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" I wish I had a trials bike. They are super fun to ride (except fast). You can go places no other bike can go even if you are no where near this guys skill...but they are not made to sit on. Criswell Sent from my iPhone

Well, I don't really like riding standing up. I can do it, but I don't like it. I never felt comfortable doing it and I always feel like I am going to fall over or something, so that's out for me. I feel like me feet will slip off or I will get tired (I never do it long enough to get tired) or I will get thrown back and do a mistaken wheelie. I learned to ride on dirt, but I never did MX and I rode slow, so, well, that's me I guess. Robert Wichert P.Eng. I have dabbled in a little bit of everything including Trials back in the 70's. A friend who had a Montesa Cota trials bike and others with Bultaco Sherpa T's started the North Texas Trials Association. I was trying to ride trials with a Hodaka. Great trail bike but not a trials bike. I used to ride standing on the pegs all the time....but old now.....like to sit down. Harder on the back in rough stuff and you have more control standing on the pegs in mud, sand, jumps etc. Dabbled some in motocross, cross country and rode an indoor short track race one night. Very exciting, got a 2nd place finish. Never tried road racing and don't particularly enjoy high speed paved riding. Much more comfortable sliding around in dirt. Trials bikes will go up and down anything. Criswell Sent from my iPad

I went to an indoor free style MX event here in Columbus, GA. several years ago and a trials rider warmed up the crowd for about 10 minutes. My date was in shock at the stuff he was doing. After he left, I asked her, "Did you notice anything odd about that display?" Her, "It was ALL odd! But, COOOOOL!" When I pointed out he never once put his feet down, she was completely in awe. Of course, Columbus being what it is, they never came back. Rats! eddie

I still have my 1978 Montesa Cota 348. Haven t touched it for 3 years, though. It sits in a dusty old shed with other bikes that I probably won t do anything with, either 75 Kawasaki F7 175, 73 Suzuki RV-125 Tracker I rode a Cota 123 in the early 70s. In my one and only observed trials event, I won amateur class 1st place. (My vintage Suzuki GT-750 has a better home , in the upstairs garage) I can not, and never could, ride like those guys such as in the Red Bull video, though.
