missed the deer but not the corner ;-(
I agree on FI Andy. The KLR though only roughly 35 ponies is as enjoyable to ride as the other two more powerful bikes I have. I'd go for mag wheels, tubeless and a 19 fatter tire on front. This ain't a motocrosser and never will be.

So you want a Super Moto?
Not a bad idea...

I like to be able to say "It's a dirt bike. A really big fat dirt
bike. A big, heavy, ugly, dirt bike."
I like the sound of that, and it tells the story.
Although FI would be nice. And a lighter swingarm. And a
titanium-carbon frame. And a Li-Ion Battery. And a titanium skid-plate
/ centerstand combination. Scratch that, I don't need a centerstand.

FI is the only change I would want for me. I still do a lot of loose grave down here in South Louisiana and just love that 3.25 x 21 Kenda 270 for that. Any thing else would put the price of the thing in KTM territory.
Many years back I had laced a 19" front on an XT500 which was fun. Could be an option today. Also was visiting an old friend whom has a Yamy SR500 in cherry shape cosmetically. I think he only has about 5 of his 30 somewhat bikes that actually run. But, 90% are cherry looking.
Ron, I often explained to my friends down here the difference between the KLR and the Bandit 1250S. One is more enjoyable under and way below 70 mph and the other above and way beyond.
Andy fixing to to to Therapy for 2nd visit
and really lovin it.
