Yesterday, my girlfriend and I took our bikes 90 miles away to visit my Dad. On the ride home (all back roads), I stopped and jokingly suggested we ride a nearby 1 lane, dirt/gravel road a few miles down to the oldest, longest, continually used covered bridge in Georgia. She surprised me and said, "Sure!" ********* Details" She had never ridden off pavement ever in her two years of riding. Her bike is a 2009 Suzuki GS500F with the fairing removed - making it a home grown "E" model with IRC sport tires. Me? I was on the Super Tenere. ********* A little surprised at "Miss Cautious's" answer, I offered a few brief tips on dirt riding and away we went. 20-25mph the whole way, we reached our destination and on the other end of the bridge stopped where the pavement began for a break. No spills. No tears. No horrified looks. Just "That was neat!" Whew! She braved the unknown and came out asking questions like, "Would a belt drive bike be able to do that okay? I know I need to clean my dirty chain. What about your bike's driveshaft? It need any special attention?" I was so proud of her! Icing on the "cake"? A half an hour later, we stopped again for a pee break and she pulled out a bag of bacon and said, "Want to help me finish this?" LOL eddie in Ga. It's just north of Woodbury, Ga. (For The Walking Dead Fans: Yes. It's a real town. LOL ) Google Map search on Red Oak Creek Covered Bridge. It's in Meriwether County. Zoom in and use the little yellow street view guy to drag over the image to see some photos of the place. eddie

I found the blue hose kinked. I should have said this earlier: THIS IS A CALIFORNIA BIKE The kinked hose may have been the culprit. Maybe not. We shall see... Robert Wichert P.Eng. LEED AP BD&C +1 916 966 9060 FAX +1 916 966 9068 ===============================================
