wooshing in gas tank opening.

Post by David Walker » Mon Jun 10, 2013 9:36 am

back in the day, we had Police Kaw 1000s. Every summer in Texas they started running rough we would open the top of the gas tank. It would belch or woosh.. or whatever you call it but it ran better. I swear the tank would shrink when we did that.. ________________________________ From: beachmike1 To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, June 9, 2013 9:11 PM Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Wooshing in gas tank opening. tank vent The vent valve in the fuel cap can stick. It is a simple job to either remove the rubber valve flap ( and do away with a Valve altogether ) or to check its operation. you can do this on the bike but its easy to drop things into the tank. 2 min and 2x 6mm screws and you've got the fuel cap off , a safer option. its also worth checking that the vent line is not pinched around the tank /seat join area and the outside end of the vent line is clear, as it can block up with mud etc. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
