moab klr rendevous; overnight housing alert

Post by revmaaatin » Tue Apr 23, 2013 6:08 pm

I called today for a 'cabin' at Canyonland Campground. All full after May 23. I think I got the last cabin in the Moab Valley RV Resort. Camping spots also sketchy after 23rd. Some cabins/campsites available up to 23 May. If you are coming to the rendevous, spaces are filling up fast/ or are gone in the two places I checked. I would imagine other motels are also booking fast. Finding a room without a previous reservation might be difficult; perhaps Fred can comment. Reading the park site, you have to have a 'toilet' and carry out all solid human waste...so winging it for camping will be a little sketchy as well unless you can get into a primitive campground with a vault toilet. All this is due to the Memorial Day holiday. (who knew, said the formerly blond rev.) see you there. revmaaatin.

Now, that's more like it. I have lusted after the Lotus Sevens since I was about 13, but I could live with a Hayabusa-powered replica. The Guzzi-powered Triking is a practical alternative to the nearly unobtainable Morgan 3-wheeler. I have been fortunate to take a ride in Steve Hamel's excellent example.

moab klr rendevous; overnight housing alert

I'm booked at the Motel 6. Most of the motels are booked heavily so if you plan to stay in one you should book soon. During the week there is some availability, and even the chains with predictable rates are high on the weekends. -Jeff Khoury

You can find most everything you want to know about the motels here in Moab at: http://www.discovermoab.com/hotels.htm If you have a group you can stay in a condo and save over individual motel rooms. http://www.discovermoab.com/accom_other.htm Campgrounds here: http://www.discovermoab.com/campgrounds.htm Fred http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com From: revmaaatin Sent: Tuesday, April 23, 2013 5:08 PM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_KLR650] MOAB KLR rendevous; overnight housing alert I called today for a 'cabin' at Canyonland Campground. I second the filling up fast comment! I was JUST able to book a cabin at the KOA from May 30 thru the 31st. I'll have space for up to 3 folks if someone wants to share expenses. KOA were booked such that I was only able to confirm a basic Kamping Kabin for a few days then moving into a nicer cabin with plumbing then back to the basic cabin again for the duration. Their only alternative was tenting the entire time and I prefer a place to lock up gear. Please contact me OFF LIST if you want to share. Looks like I'll be crashing a KLR event on a DRZ unless I can pick up a bottom end (or decent used engine) for my KLR before then. If you can help source that please contact me off list. -----Original Message----- From: "revmaaatin" Sent: 4/ 23/ 2013 19:08 To: "DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> Subject: [DSN_KLR650] MOAB KLR rendevous; overnight housing alert I called today for a 'cabin' at Canyonland Campground.
