tank bags
I have researched the archives and found threads about 2 years old on tank
bags. I was wondering if anybody has any recent opinions or experiences
with the Kawa tank bag vs. the Wolfman Explorer.

I like my Joe Rocket magnetic. The front magnets stick to the front
surface of the tank while the rest stick to the side. The gas cap
takes up some space but that's OK. It's a little long as well but
the price was right.

I use the Eclipse Standard bag mounted upside down on the KLR (single
buckle at the top). Lots of room, just don't put heavy stuff in the
side pockets or you risk tank scratches.

Any ideals on tank bags for the KLR?
I'm considering the Wolfman Explorer, and thoughts?
Will it work with the Areostich standard tank panniers?
Thanks

I have a Tecnic magnetic tank bag, which I think is meant for a
sportbike with a sloping tank. It fits the KLR perfectly, will expand
vertically, and was really inexpensive. I have a Wolfman tank bag (not
the explorer) for another bike- they are really nice but you will
definitely pay for what you get.
I got the Tecnic as a stopgap measure originally, but I really like it.
Almost any tankbag will interfere with stand-up riding.

Check out the Marsee Teardrop bags. They have a 15 liter and a 20 liter bag. I don't know where the difference is, they show the same dimensions on both bags at: http://www.marseeproducts.com/page/tankbg1.html I will get one of these when I find out what makes them different from one another. Aerostitch panniers -MAY- interfer with some magnetic tankbags but not with any strap ons. Not that I can see. I wasn't exactly sure what a pannier was so I looked it up. Straight from the dictionary: A framework of wire, bone, or other material formerly used to expand a woman's skirt at the hips. A skirt or an overskirt puffed out at the hips. Then it said the root word had it's origin as a bread basket................... Only in a group of scoot heads. MAN!!! taf>Any ideals on tank bags for the KLR? >I'm considering the Wolfman Explorer, and thoughts? >Will it work with the Areostich standard tank panniers?

Are we talking about saddle bags? Or is that strictly a HD term?
