nklr welding a centerstand on a 2002klr.....

Post by Greg May » Fri Mar 01, 2013 7:06 pm

Most of the dc clamps I believe measure current using hall effect sensors so no magic involved. Price unless you have someone else buying your meters like I do is an issue. The cheapest I,ve seen, and the price has come down a lot in the last few years, cost the same as about 60 of the Harbour Freight multimeters. Ironic thing concerning dc clamps, as the price comes down my need for one decreases since to my experience at least pretty well all of the drives I install or work on now are ac.... wow was boring enough I need another beer.....cheers....Greg ________________________________ From: Patrick Zegers To: RobertWichert Cc: DSN KLR650 DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2013 11:44:23 PM Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Re: Welding a centerstand on a 2002KLR..... Current still flows in the circuit and gives an inductive reading. I've been working in electronics for decades but had not seen one, Then, a couple of years ago I had to check batteries and chargers for electric forklifts. Someone said here's the book and a DC ammeter. ________________________________ From: RobertWichert robert@...> To: mark ward nomad59@...> Cc: "DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com>; revmaaatin mjearl4@...>; Bogdan Swider bSwider@...> Sent: Thu, February 28, 2013 12:55:52 PM Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Re: Welding a centerstand on a 2002KLR..... I have always wanted a clamp-on DC ammeter because I think they are pure magic. How in god's name do you measure DC amps without a connection? Unbelievable... Robert Wichert P.Eng. The links are: http://store.ricorshocks.com/klr650_s/42.htm http://cycleguidemagazine.blogspot.com/2010/09/product-review-ricor-intiminator-fork.html http://thepacepodcast.com/archives/1705 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI8U7jCKSDc Pat particular attention to the stability of the fender compared to that of the movement of the wheel. That s how the much reduced compression damping manifests itself. Sorry [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
