Somebody on the list advises to use truck bedliner paint. That's gotta look nasty. Sound? Well, there are lots of loud mufflers out there. Fred, what's the loudest muffler you have? Paint shark teeth on the fairing and clip playing cards to the forks.....whoops....no I get in trouble for those kind of answers. I did bedliner my plastic, painted the tank a macho scallop of red and yellow on a black background. Had a loud pipe.....all dual sporters frowned.....drilled holes in the rear of the muffler....everybody is happy. Criswell Sent from my iPhone

I've seen 3 bikes with "bed liner" paint job, 2 looked very nice, 1 was thicker raised texture, not so nice.

A supertrapp like this? (see attached) My end cap, core, and packing blew out on the freeway a few weeks ago, and it was shockingly loud. I thought something fatal had happened at first just from the shock of it, then realized what happened when I didnt loose any power and it was just loud. Wouldnt recommend it, although it had a lot more top end, hahah. No bottom end anymore. Need earplugs, it is deafening and really no fun after just a few minutes. Not just loud, but truly painful, mostly for the rider. It was wicked though considering what I was used to prior =D I went with a FMF q4 for replacement and absolutely love the pipe. It seals completely, sounds great, and the bike just runs heaps better throughout the range of RPMs. Bike starts easier, runs much nicer, and my economy increased a by a noticeable amount (from about 36-42mpg to 40-46mpg) Im hanging on to the old not so super trapp in case I ever want bleeding eardrums again or to make a flamethrower pipe with a sparkplug or something.... that might be fun. -Andy

The mileage increase sounds a bit ...... Exaggerated. Are there any other mods done or is there really that much of an improvement just by changing the exhaust? Is that just the muffler or the header pipe from the engine also? Sent from Yahoo! Mail for iPhone [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
